The International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS®) is a unique, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to training and certifying law enforcement in the field of computer forensics. Formed in 1990, IACIS® has steadily grown and matured into the internationally recognized and respected organization it is today. Our membership includes federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel from the United States, and international law enforcement personnel from nearly 50 additional countries around the world.

IACIS® has hosted annual US training courses since its beginning in 1990. In recent years, IACIS® has expanded the training program to include annual courses in Germany. Look for future international growth with continued annual training in Germany and other potential venues, such as the United Kingdom and Australia.

The IACIS® certification process sets the organization apart from every other computer forensic association. The certification we offer, the Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), encompasses the entire computer forensic process. It includes aspects of acquiring digital evidence, examining data in a forensically sound manner and reporting findings in a technically concise way.

IACIS® offers to its membership the benefits of newsletters, file libraries, and list servers for continuous communication and information sharing capabilities regarding digital forensics, technology advancements, and computer crimes.

In order to keep pace with the ever changing computer forensic arena, IACIS® is constantly changing and evolving. What makes our organization unique is the membership is the catalyst for the change and evolution. Join our membership, be a part of the organization, volunteer to improve our organization and become the future of IACIS®.
