Belkasoft BECX Training Series

The Belkasoft Evidence Center Certified Examiner 5 days course is designed to provide local/federal law enforcement, military investigative personnel, and private sector security professionals training on the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Forensically acquire digital evidence from computer-based storage and mobile devices
  • Analyze artifacts from all major operating systems on server-grade, desktop, and mobile-based platforms
  • Draft effective reports on pertinent findings

Day One will cover basic overview of the Belkasoft Platform and utilizing the Belkasoft Platform interface.

  • Module – BEC Overview
    • Students will receive a comprehensive overview of the BEC platform, focus, and core competencies.
  • Module – BEC Interface
    • Instructors will guide students through the BEC user interface, controls, windows, and menus to implement familiarity with the platform in preparation for practical exercises.

Day Two will cover the BEC forensic workflow and performing search techniques to locate items of evidentiary value quickly and efficiently.

  • Module – BEC Workflow
    • Students will become familiar with the BEC workflow required to manage cases, acquire digital evidence, prepare the platform for efficient forensic analysis, and draft effective reports on findings.
  • Module – Search Techniques
    • Students will learn how to leverage BEC platform tools and features to conduct efficient searches on digital evidence artifacts using keywords and advanced expressions.
      Students will also learn effective bookmarking techniques and how to export pertinent data from the BEC environment for subsequent analysis with 3rd party tools.

Day Three will focus on analyzing multimedia files (Geotag,Exif) and performing analysis or RAM captures for items pertaining to the current case.

  • Module – Multimedia Analysis
    • Instructors will guide students on tools and techniques within the BEC platform to forensically analyze digital multimedia to discover artifacts (such as Geotag, EXIF) pertinent to an ongoing case. Students will also learn how to properly handle illicit images in preparation for reporting.
  • Module – Advanced Analysis
    • Students will learn how to utilize BEC to analyze RAM data, detect encrypted files, discover Internet-based evidence, and carve data from unallocated space or embedded documents (Ex: MS Word).

Day Four will focus on the basics of mobile device investigations utilizing the Belkasoft Forensic Platform and include an introduction to device acquisitions and analysis.

  • Module – Mobile Device Acquisitions
    • Students will understand how to properly identify and forensically acquire Apple iOS and Google Android mobile devices using the BEC platform.
  • Module – Mobile Device Examinations
    • Students will understand how to analyze forensic acquisitions and mobile backups from iOS and Android devices for pertinent artifacts from within the BEC platform.

Day Five will focus on an Introduction to using the Belkasoft Forensic Platform to perform Incident Response procedures in a Corporate environment for Intrusions and Malware cases.

  • Module – Incident Response Techniques
    • Students will become familiar with how to utilize BEC to respond quickly and efficiently to incidents within a corporate environment.
  • Module – Malware Analysis
    • Student will become familiar with locating and analyzing instances of Malware in a corporate environment.

Cancellation of this class may occur if there are insufficient students registered. In the event of a cancellation, personnel will typically be notified by email within 48 hours of the registration closure date. Cancellations within 45 days from the start of class to 31 days from the start of class will be subject to a $150 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds within 30 days from the start of class.****

Please read the following notes regarding this class:

  1. Classes begin at 8:00 AM ET and conclude at 5:00 PM ET, each day, with a one hour lunch break. Classes will end at 2:00 PM ET on the last day of class. Please do not arrange for departing flights prior to 7:00 PM ET to allow time for travel to the airport and any security clearances.
  2. The dress code for the conference is business casual (collared shirts and slacks).The wearing of shorts, flip flops, tank tops, etc. is not allowed in the classroom. Personal computers are not permitted in the classroom. Students are required to attend all classes to successfully complete the program. Students who fail to meet the attendance requirements will not be issued a certificate at the conclusion of the program.


The 2021 course will be taught at the Caribe Royale Hotel, 8101 World Center Drive, Orlando, Florida 32821 (USA).  This hotel is close to the Orlando International Airport, has a large pool, spacious workout facility and is very close to Disney World and Universal Studios.

If IACIS is unable to hold their 2021 Orlando training event, then all students who have registered and paid, will have the option of a full refund or a reserved seat at the 2022 training event.  IACIS is not responsible for any outside expenses (e.g. travel and accommodation) in the event of the training event being cancelled. Anyone who paid for training will receive complimentary membership through the year that his/her training takes place.
