MDFL Course Overview

The IACIS Managing a Digital Forensics Laboratory (MDFL) 16-hour training course is designed for those who are responsible for a digital forensics unit or laboratory. Taught by industry experts, and through in-depth classroom presentations and instructor-led discussions, the course provides comprehensive guidance for:

  • Creating a DFL: types, agency support, funding sources.
  • Establishing a DFL: facility layout, power/network, security, RF shielding, evidence storage, equipment, personnel.
  • Managing a DFL: roles, budgeting, case management, quality management.
  • Strategizing for Future Challenges: adapting to technological changes, data growth, caseloads, and regulatory requirements.
