Jasun Hawkins – Michigan, USA

Volunteer since 2016 in the areas of Training, Online Training, and the Board of Directors.

Jasun has always felt that IACIS and its members have a tremendous sense of duty towards protecting the innocent.  He volunteers for this organization in order to carry out that mission and to help those entering the digital forensics field in any way he can.  Although his career transition from law enforcement to higher education in recent years has moved him away from hands-on investigations, Jasun still recognizes the importance of what IACIS stands for and commits himself to improving the delivery of quality instruction in an ever-changing field.  Jasun has served in multiple ways for IACIS, including as an instructor, Chair of Online Training, and now as Vice President.

Jasun earned his PhD in Information Technology and Security from Capella University, is a professor at Ferris State University, and is employed as an analyst for the Michigan State Police.  In his spare time, he performs with his band StoneHengz, writes music, golfs, and enjoys time on his boat.  His daughter is now attending college, so he grabs any opportunity he can to spend time with her as she progresses through her journey.  Jasun is adamant that pineapple should never go on pizza and will question the sanity of anyone who says otherwise.
