Cemil – Germany

Volunteer since 2010 in the areas of Certification, Development, and Training.

When Cemil attended the 2009 BCFE training in Germany, he was excited to have the opportunity to be in one room with students and instructors from around the world who all shared a common goal.  He felt that the structure of the training was perfectly coordinated, and he immediately saw a positive impact on his daily workflow at the office after attending the course. When he found out that the coaches were all volunteers, it was clear to him that he wanted to be a part of the team and contribute back to the community.  The idea of sharing knowledge with his colleagues in order to solve crimes and help make the world a better place is his primary motivation to volunteer for IACIS.

Cemil is the head of the digital forensic lab and deputy head of the Cybercrime Unit for his police agency in Germany. He currently volunteers for IACIS as an instructor and developer for the Windows Forensic Examiner (WFE) course.  In his free time, he enjoys traveling, riding his motorcycle, boxing, and basketball.  Cemil’s personal mantra is “A day without a smile is a lost day.”
