Rob Attoe – West Virginia, USA

Volunteer since 2005 in the areas of Training, Development, and Certification.

Rob grew up in a working class family prior to joining the military straight from highschool and then onto Kent Police in the UK.  Although he moved on to build an accomplished career working with various digital forensics organizations and companies, Rob never lost sight of the fact that many of those who enter into law enforcement do not come from privileged backgrounds.  As Rob saw more success, he felt that volunteering for IACIS was his way of thanking the industry that has brought so many great opportunities and joy to his life. He is passionate about sharing knowledge and chooses to volunteer his time for IACIS because of the organization’s mission to bring affordable, quality training to the community.

Rob is the CEO of Spyder Forensics, providing digital forensics training, development, and professional service solutions. He is the team leader for the IACIS Applied Scripting Fundamentals (ASF) program and has been a part of the WFE team (Lead and Instructor) for almost a decade and is also developing new course content for the MDE class.  In his spare time, Rob takes his modified Polaris RZR through the Appalachian Mountains that he now calls home.  Whether there’s mud, snow, ice, or sand, Rob and his RZR take to the terrain to enjoy the peace and solitude that the outdoors can offer.  He never forgets his British roots, though, and still misses UK television, a good curry, and London.
